Summary
Rock sliders are a must if you plan on going over treacherous terrain unless you plan on damaging your rigs body. Do your research before deciding on a set for your vehicle because there are various types of rock sliders out there that simply preform different but all serve the same purpose. For the most part you can chose between bolt on or weld on for your vehicle. Some people prefer weld on over bolt on simply because they believe it is stronger due to being welded to the frame others claim bolt on are better because you can remove them if need be and are just as strong if not stronger. The biggest difference is the cost (bolt on are more expensive then weld on).
I went with Relentless Fabrication weld on rock sliders with their signature style kick outs.

Weld on sliders takes some prep work on the frame to make sure you get good contact for the weld. Bolt on sliders would eliminate the prep work but I’ve heard some need holes drilled in the frame (not a fan of drilling holes in my frame and one of the main reasons I went with weld on).

Nice to have access to a lift when installing sliders! If you don’t have access to a lift then doing this will be a major pain lol and paying someone to do the install will probably end up being quite pricey. I would recommend doing bolt on in that case.

The kick outs serve a purpose by the way not just to look obnoxious. They are meant to push the ass end of the vehicle away from an obstacle if you are too close so you don’t get hung up or worse encounter body damage.

Rock sliders don’t come standard with dimple plates on the top they are usually naked. I went with these so I could use them as steps and when they are wet or muddy they will still be safe to use without slipping off.

I’m very happy with my weld on sliders. They have saved my cab from being damaged numerous times already.
